
Barbara Pitcher
(PT, DPT)
Barbara graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology followed by her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008. She has worked primarily in outpatient orthopedic settings treating a variety of diagnoses such as pre/post operative, sports medicine, neurological disorders, and degenerative diseases. She values incorporating various treatment techniques such as neuromuscular reeducation, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercises to make individualized plans of care for each patient. She encourages clients with their home exercise programs in order to facilitate independence and optimal healing so as to avoid re-injury. Aside from general orthopedics she also enjoys treating temporomandibular joint dysfunction and has worked in administering physical therapy through aquatics. Barbara has also worked in extensive managerial roles within physical therapy and has a special interest in clinical operations, maximizing client success and outcomes, and prioritizing patient-centered care. She has also had clinical experiences in pediatric outpatient settings, geriatric skilled nursing facilities and subacute rehabilitation hospitals. She enjoys helping clients achieve their goals and maximize their performance and quality of life.
In her spare time Barbara enjoys spending time with her family including being anywhere by the water, camping, roadtrips to see family and cheering on the sports teams in New England.
